Domaine les Pins is an ideal base for those who prefer to lengthen their stay in the Périgord Vert or wish to take part in the various tourist activities that the Dordogne offers. Thiviers
The nearest town is located 6.5 km away, you will find here all the shops and several supermarkets. The city lies at the highest point of the hilly landscape and traditionally at an intersection of roads. Today Thiviers presents itself as the capital of the Foie Gras.
Every Saturday there is market in Thiviers. It is one of the largest regional markets in the area and specializes in regional products: foie gras, nuts, grains, etc. In addition, from mid-November to mid-March, there is a special Foie Gras market. During the months of June through to September, Thiviers has some enjoyable tourist activities such as brocantes, night markets, wine festivals and a large fair.
Brantôme
Brantôme is a beautiful little town and a tourist attraction thanks to the Benedictine abbey (founded by Charles the Great in the 9th century) and its Gothic church, the monastery complex and the beautiful location.
Périgueux
This ancient city dates from Roman times. You can enjoy walking around the streets and alleys, visit the famous cathedral Puy Saint Front or enjoy one of the many terraces. Every day the 'marche des chefs firm' (farmers market) is held in the medieval center, with on Wednesday and Saturday the 'marche des saveurs (market of taste).
Saint Jean de Côle
A picturesque village that once was a monastery, where houses are built in its surrounds. Apart from being a beautiful village, it is also lively. Of particular interest are the castle, the abbey, the old bridge and the mill.
Jumilhac le Grand
The castle of Jumilhac is most impressive and the Roman church is a special attraction. There is still an authentic Roman road leading to the Roman bridge across the river d'Isle. Gold has been found here in this river for centuries and you can still search for gold in its waters. The town has a museum telling the history of gold.
Ségur le Château
The medieval village of Ségur le Château, in the north-west of Corrèze, is an invitation to explore. And for good reason ! With its narrow streets lined with half-timbered houses, its past as a court of appeal, walks on the square by the water in the shade of chestnut trees, all under the benevolent gaze of its castle ... he old fortress of the Viscounts of Limoges has something to seduce! We share with you our ideas and favorites to discover in this village like no other.

Walking
This area is the place to be for walkers. Directly from Domaine les Pins you can folow a marked path through beautiful countryside and little villages. We have various routes available for you.
Swimming
• Plan d´eau Nantheuil.
On a short distance there is a beautiful swimminglake with a beach. Also you can take a refreshment in the cozy restaurant.
• Lac de Rouffiac
This is the largest lake of the Périgord, offers a variety of watersports.
• Swimmingpool
There are swimming pools nearby, in Thiviers, Nontron and Périgueux.

Canoeing
Canoeing in the Dordogne is definitely recommended. In the charming town of Brantôme you can navigate around and through the city. Also on the nearby River the Isle you can go canoeing through the countryside and the various rapids makes this a great adventure.
Horse riding
• You can go horse riding at various horse/riding centres and adventuring on horseback through the beautiful countryside of the Dordogne.
• Arnac Pompadour, 35 km., not only worthwhile for its castle, but also known for the equestrian sports. All forms of this sport are exercised here. Flat racing, steeplechase, dressage and jumping events take place regularly. Not only on a national level but also international. If you like horses, then a visit to Pompadour is a MUST!
Culture
Château de Hautefort
The imposing Château Hautefort is located nearby the village Hautefort. The original castle dates from the 10th century. After a big fire in 1968, the castle was build and decorated again as possible in the original style. And open to the public.
Château de Bourdeilles
There are two parts to the Chateau de Bourdeilles:
A sturdy fortress dating back to the 13th century, constructed on a rocky spur and dominated by an octagonal keep. It is possible to climb to the top and get some superb views of the village below.
A renaissance castle with richly furnished rooms such as the sumptuous 'Salon Doré' with a beautiful painted ceiling. There is a prestigious collection of furniture including the gilt Spanish bed of Charles V.
Grotte de Villars
Located nearby the village Villars. Here you can find many stalactites and the many murals are of particular interest.
Grotte de Tourtoirac
Located nearby Hautefort. This cave was discovered in 1995 and since 2010 open to the public. The cave is a place full of magic, created by water, time, lime and light.
Musée du Foie Gras - Thiviers
Foie gras, a delicacy in the region. Will you know everything about the history of foie gras? Then visit the Musée de Foie Gras in Thiviers.
Oradour sur Glâne
If you are interested in the history of the World War II, than you must visit Oradour sur Glâne. On the 10th June 1944, without giving any explanation, the Waffen-SS killed a total of 642 men, women and children, leaving only a few survivors. They then destroyed the entire village and to this day there is no universally accepted explanation for the massacre. The narrative, in a Ruined State, gives a full description of what happened.
Kids
Vélorail
A voyage of discovery biking through Périgord Vert on a track bike (no ordinary bike). An adventure for the whole family. With a maximum of five persons on one bike, the tour starts in Corgnac and runs via a track through the forests, over bridges, passing through small stations to Thiviers.
Adventure circuit in the wood
The daredevils among us, even children as young as three years old, can go on an adventure with their parents in a wood that is specially built for climbing. There are exciting tracks at various levels.
Aquatic Center
AquaCap, an attractive water sports centre for all ages - children, parents, sportsmen and women - and proposes leisure activities, wellness, sport activities and games. There is a sports pool (25x15m), a games pool covering 250 sq m, a water toboggan 100 m long, and, for the young kids, a paddling pool covering 60 sq m. For your wellness needs, you have the balneotherapy rooms, the water massage jets, the river current, etc.
Donkey riding
Still just a little bit too small for horse riding? Then it is a great adventure for the kids to take a donkey ride through the forest. You yourself can accompany your child, walking alongside the donkey. With the aid of a map you will be directed along a splendid track through the forest.
Zoo
The Reynou Park is located at Le Vigen, nearby Limoges. A park where everybody will observe, understand and appreciate the animal and vegetable kingdom.
